Gemma Hughes, an AT Support Engineer at Smartbox, raised over £400 for Vranch House by hosting a local bake and plant sale. Gemma shares some information below about the charity and what the funds would be going towards supporting.
“My daughter has a love of cake and playing shop, so we came up with the idea of having a local bake and plant sale for charity. We have a great local community so asked everyone if they would also like to donate cakes and plants to sell.
We chose to donate the money raised to Vranch House as it is a charity I have worked with closely in the past through my role in Smartbox and one my neighbour still works with.
Vranch House is an amazing charity based in Exeter. It is a centre for the treatment of over 2,000 outpatients with physical difficulties, a provider of various therapies throughout Devon and an independent Day School in Exeter for children with significant physical difficulties.
They are in desperate need of a wheelchair accessible minibus which will cost a whooping £38,000. So it was great we could raise an incredible £200 on the day, and even more amazing that the Foundation has matched that funding”
