TLC Wales is a fostering agency based in Crosshands, Carmarthenshire which provides family placements for children and young people with disabilities and complex needs, including life limited children.
The CareTech Foundation was delighted to support TLC Wales with a £250 donation through their match funding grant scheme.
Andrew Harrison, a foster carer with TLC Wales donated two tickets for the Wales v England Six Nations rugby match to be sold in a charity auction to raise money for Tŷ Hafan hospice which cares for life limited children. Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales. The Hospice provides incredible support to parents and carers to enable them to have a break from caring for a profoundly disabled or very sick child and have quality time with other family members.
The auction of the donated tickets raised £560, including the donation of £250 from the CareTech Foundation.
Karen Zasheva, from TLC Wales said:
“Tŷ Hafan is a beautiful place where life-limited children and young people can be cared for so that they and their families can make the most of the time they have left together. They are a family’s safe haven when their child is close to the end of life, providing expert comfort and support in their darkest hours and beyond. TLC Wales also foster life limited children and have found the Hospice to be a valuable source of support to Foster Carers.”
