The Foundation was thrilled to have recently supported a match fund application for the Severn Hospice.
Amanda from Acorn Way, along with her sister Ann, took part in the Forget Me Not Walk this May at The Quarry, Shrewsbury.
The hospice is close to Amanda and her sister’s heart as their Dad, who has terminal cancer, has used the services of the hospice. The charity, who provide support and respite, has been a great support to the family.
Amanda said:
“It was a lovely day to complete a walk at The Quarry in Shrewsbury. It was very emotional for all involved, however knowing that other families will benefit from the support we have received as a family at what is an extremely difficult time as a result of the money raised makes it all the more special. We would be struggling as a family without this support.”
Amanda and Ann raised over £750, and the Foundation was able to make a match-funding donation of £250.
The hospice is reliant on fund raising to continue with the valuable work that they do to support families in the local area who are suffering from cancer. You can find out more about their work HERE.
