Bel, Systems Analyst, at CareTech Head Office, along with a group of around 12 people recently took part in a walk organised by Southgate Rotary Club.
Here Bel tells her story about the event and her fundraising for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice:
“I have been involved with many Southgate Rotary Club fundraising events for several years. Having recently lost 9 stone and trying to exercise more frequently to improve my health and fitness, I thought this walk was a great way to help towards this. Southgate Rotary Club always organise great events for such great charities and I was so pleased when a colleague told me about the CareTech Foundation and the work they do in match funding.
The walk on the day went well, and I am proud to say that collectively we managed to raise £1,525, of which a portion will go to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and the rest going to Kid’s Out and Memory Café – both of which are also amazing charities. The weather even held up for us, with only 5 minutes of light rain!
I think it is very important to support local, community-based charities. When hearing stories about how Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice have helped children and their families, it becomes apparent just how vital charities like these are, to allow both the children they help and their families to feel safe and supported.
I am so grateful to everybody that donated and to the CareTech Foundation for your contribution to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. It is great to know I work for a company who are just as passionate as I am about helping charities continue to do incredible work.”
Bel herself raised £125 for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, which the Foundation matched, making a grant total of £250.
