Those Living In Care

Autistica:
Social Care Action Fund

The CareTech Foundation’s partnership with Autistica, the leading UK autism research charity, funds the Social Care Action Fund for high-quality social care research studies focused on revolutionising social care provision for the most vulnerable marginalised autistic people.

In the last 12 months, two projects were completed related to supporting autistic people in care through their transition to adulthood and a toolkit to equip social workers to support autistic people as they age. A third is underway for the co-production of a tool to capture the views and experiences of autistic people with profound learning disabilities in day service provision.

CareTech Ltd has been a supporter of Autistica’s development of the NDEI® (Neurodiversity Employers Index) and Autistica’s 2030 Goals. The aim is to double the employment rate for autistic people and the NDEI® is a measure of neuroinclusion for organisations. It sets a gold standard of best practices and provides recommendations for improvement with an annual awards program. By publishing the 2030 goals, Autistica has been able to focus on the issues facing the autistic community and communicate them effectively across the UK.
