CareTech Foundation funds four Kidz Max Days a year across the UK. It aims to reduce isolation, enhance health and wellbeing, improve confidence, increase employability opportunities and build leadership skills.

So far, four Kidz Max Days have taken place across the UK, hosting 256 young wheelchair users and their families for an adventurous day out. This has allowed families to spend time together, meet others and enjoy a day without worrying about accessibility and cost.

When surveyed, 100% of respondents said they would recommend and attend a future Kidz Max Days

94% strongly agreed that they enjoyed spending time with their family during the event

The best thing about Kidz Max Days is that children get to meet other families who are similar to theirs. The success of Kidz Max Days has inspired Whizz-Kidz to include some of its elements into their monthly clubs. This includes a renewed focus on parent and sibling inclusion, as well as a new Buddy Program that pairs families online ahead of Kidz Max Days to share experiences and improve the days.
An endowment of £1 million has been given to fund equipment for young wheelchairs to support the activities.

Getting to see the joy and smiles the children got from being able to access the skiing, this is something that the children had never done before, and it's something that will have a positive impact on their health and well-being.
