Partnership Grants

Alzheimer’s Society:
The Longitude Prize on Dementia

The £4.3M Prize seeks to incentivise assistive technologies to help people diagnosed with dementia remain independent in their homes – an effective way to manage progression in those diagnosed. Other partners include Innovate UK, Challenge Works, Age Well and Amazon Web Services. The four-year partnership will consist of three rounds. In round one, innovators will be selected, round two will involve five finalists, and the overall winner will be awarded £1M. The programme has received support from dementia organisations in America and Canada. The Foundation, along with its funding, will also enable the innovators, finalists and the eventual winner to test their products with CareTech Ltd and consult with CareTech Ltd staff on real-world experience. In year one, 24 innovators were awarded Discovery Awards by the judging panel from a total of 175 applications from around the World.
