We’ve been Shortlisted for Charity Collaboration of the Year Award by Charity Times Awards
We delighted to announce that the Foundation and its partner, EY Foundation, have been shortlisted for Charity Collaboration of the Year Award by Charity Times Awards 2022. This short-listing is high praise and recognition of the outstanding effort and hard-work invested in this partnership.
The shortlisting comes for the Our Future and Smart Futures programmes, designed and delivered by EY Foundation with co-funding from the Foundation. The partnership offered paid employability and mentoring support to 45 Year 12s on free school meals in the care sector with the support of CareTech PLC staff in Potters Bar, Manchester and Birmingham.
Over the last four years, this partnership has broadened aspirations, supported skills development, and facilitated a greater sense of purpose amongst participants, reducing barriers to employment and enabling both young people and mentors to thrive in the workplace. Young people developed a better understanding of social care, experiencing first-hand the varied career opportunities in the sector and staff gained essential leadership skills through their 10-month commitment to mentor the young people.
Owing to the success of Our Future and Smart Futures programmes, we, together, were able to launch the Beyond Your Limits programme in October 2020. The two-year programme supports 16-17 year olds in care who are in full / part time education. The programme delivers a range of ‘guaranteed interventions’ including paid work experience and employability training amounting to 21 days of paid support and training.
The Charity Times Awards will take place on 14th September 2022 at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square.
