Helen Burton

Trustee

Helen is the managing partner of the London office of Ashurst, a global law firm with 31 offices in 18 countries.  She has been a partner with the firm for over 20 years and sat on the global executive team of the firm for over 8 years.

Aside from her role as a lawyer, in her executive role within the firm Helen was responsible for driving forward the global client programme.  She has also previously had responsibility for the graduate recruitment team within the firm and chaired the Women’s Network and the Diversity Committee.  These varied roles have given her valuable experience in change management and working with teams to encourage collaboration and cohesion.

Helen is passionate about diversity and inclusion, and was one of the founding partners of Ashurst’s Diversity Committee and its first Chair.  She has acted as a mentor to several female lawyers within the firm and has also benefitted hugely from reverse mentoring.

As a mother to two young boys, she also uses some of the skills learnt in the legal world – of bringing resolution to opposing parties – to her family life too!
