We’re delighted to announce the appointment of three new independent members to our Board of Trustees, who each took up their roles in May 2023. The new trustees have backgrounds spanning the third sector and private sector. They have each been appointed on three-year terms to help the Foundation to deliver its mission-driven strategy to 2027.

The role of trustees is vital to the strategic direction and development of the Foundation and each new trustee will play an important role in helping our growth. These appointments are a great boost to the Foundation and further strengthen its leadership and management position at Board-room level.

Richard Kramer is Chief Executive of Sense and Sense International. Prior to joining Sense Richard was Director at Turning Point and has held a number of Director-led positions across policy, campaigns and business development.

“I am thrilled to join the CareTech Foundation’s Board having been a member of their Advisory Council for the last two years. The CareTech Foundation is widely respected as a partnership-led and value-based grant funder, and a national champion of social care. I look forward to supporting the work of the CareTech Foundation, helping them to shape their future direction, and to continue to evidence the impact and outcomes of their important work, as an enabler and amplifier of innovation both in the UK and internationally.”

Bhavna Keane-Rao co-founded BKR Care Consultancy in 2011 which has more than 30 consultants supporting services ranging from care homes and care villages to private and NHS GPs and hospitals, dental practices, and children’s care services.

“I was honoured when I was invited to be involved in the CareTech Foundation advisory board. To really see how the grants are allocated and the good work done in partnership with other charities has been an incredible opportunity. Having seen the amazing work undertaken by the Foundation I am delighted that I am now able to be a trustee for the CareTech Foundation to support the ongoing work both here in the UK and around the world. The foundation has a great reputation in the UK and internationally and BKR Care Consultancy are delighted to be associated with it.”

“I am thrilled to be joining the Board of Trustees of the CareTech Foundation. For family reasons, the world of social care is close to my heart, having seen first-hand the dedication and sacrifice that care workers make day in and day out. The opportunity to work with a charity focused on championing social care, care workers and those living in care, which delivers real impact on a daily basis through its grants but also, where relevant, through sharing its experience and expertise.
