The CareTech Foundation is proud to celebrate the successful conclusion of our partnership with the National Theatre, supporting its Public Acts programme to demonstrate how the creative and social care sectors can work together to strengthen communities.
Over three years, our funding supported the delivery of Public Acts, the National Theatre’s nationwide programme that brings people together through large-scale, community-led theatre productions.
Together, the partnership delivered:
- 7 community productions.
- Collaborations with more than 30 theatre and community partners.
- Theatre experiences for over 10,000 participants and audience members.
Public Acts worked with communities across the country to build confidence, develop new skills and create ambitious productions alongside professional artists, ensuring theatre is accessible, inclusive and representative of the communities it serves.
We are proud to have supported a programme that has demonstrated the power of creativity to bring people together, foster belonging and create lasting social impact through the arts.

"What a joy to see the impact of Public Acts captured so powerfully. It wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our wonderful Public Acts and Learning teams, the brilliant collaboration of our community partners, and the support of funders who shared the Public Acts vision, amongst them CareTech Charitable Foundation. Their commitment to harnessing the power of theatre to bring people and communities together has helped make possible seven joy-filled productions, collaborations with more than 30 partners, and unforgettable experiences for over 10,000 participants and audiences. It’s been such a brilliant partnership for Public Acts - one of curiosity and shared purpose. So a huge thank you to Tariq N Raja, Arif Islam and the CareTech Foundation Trustees for their support of Public Acts. You are an integral a part of its legacy and we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to partner with you."
