The Foundation publishes its Annual Report and Impact Report 2023/2024

The CareTech Foundation is pleased to publish its Annual Report and Impact Report 2023/2024

Since 2017, CareTech Foundation has supported over 1.9 million people. Our funding has trained nearly 5,000 people, and equipped around 1,500 people with improved employment skills.

We are delighted to share the statistics, stories and impact that this year has bought.

Our Annual and Impact reports show the positive difference we continue to make as we champion the social care sector, care workers and those living in care. In 2023/24, we have:

  • provided £1.2 million in funding

  • supported 40,719 people directly

  • worked with 70 charities globally

  • built 21 active partnerships

  • increased 655 people’s employability skills

  • trained 170 facilitators

  • worked within 5 countries

  • launched 4 new, high-impact partnerships

Over the course of the year, the Foundation has further cemented its place as a leader in driving and championing innovation and collaboration across the social care and charity sectors. The year featured new partnerships, a competitive presence in championing the work of social care staff and ensuring that solutions were presented to existing problems.

Alongside the highlights featured in detail across the two reports, we want to share a few stories with you:

  • Our ongoing support of Citizens Advice Milton Keynes (CAMK) offered staff and their families free social welfare and financial advice to help them cope with the ongoing Cost-of-Living Crisis.

  • A grant of £2,500 funded the ‘Memory Café’ initiative that combats loneliness and social isolation. Since July 2023, the café has held 11 sessions for people experiencing memory loss, dementia or loneliness, and their carers.

  • Our Match-Funding Grant have resulted in £16,169 being matched by the Foundation following the incredible fundraising efforts of CareTech Ltd staff for registered charities, including Mencap, MND Association and Ducks and Drapes Cancer Trust.

A particular highlight for the Foundation has been the success of the Pakistan Special Education Initiative (PSEI). Launched in May 2023, the programme sought to address the gap in SEN provision within mainstream schools in Pakistan. With no national standard currently in place, we recruited a dedicated member of staff in-country to lead the programme and completed SEN training of 15 teachers in five schools across three cities. We also successfully launched a bespoke Initial Assessment Form to help teachers manage the needs of students and monitor their progress without the need for separation or exclusion from their peers.

As we finish reporting on our achievements for FY2023/24 and look ahead to FY2024/25, we would like to thank our friends, supporters and partners for their support of the Foundation’s work. We will continue to drive impact in collaboration with others and look forward to reporting on the incredible change you help us deliver next year.
