Young Carers Festival

Young carers play a vital, often unseen, role in society. Many balance school, home responsibilities, and emotional challenges daily. This can lead to stress and anxiety.

We are proud to partner with The Children’s Society (TCS) to offer Young Carers  the chance to connect, recharge, and simply enjoy being young.  TCS are celebrating 25 incredible years of the world’s largest gathering of young carers. The Young Carers Festival sees over 1,000 amazing young people come together for a life-changing weekend of joy and well-deserved respite, year after year.

The Foundation will be sponsoring the event for the next 3 years in hopes to make the festival bigger and better than ever. Our funding will provide:

  • travel grants to remove access barriers,
  • extra activities including DJs and creative workshops,
  • the development of post-festival resources on mental health, careers, and peer support.

YCF2025 was a huge success!

Through music, creative spaces, adventurous activities and meaningful conversation we saw the resilience and brilliance of the young carers shine through.

These young people balance so much, and yet bring so much heart to everything they do. We are honoured to support them, help amplify their voices and simply let them have fun!

Let’s continue working together to recognise, support, and empower young carers across the UK.

“At the CareTech Foundation we want to lead the way in recognising the importance of young carers in our society and the exceptional work they do. We hope that our investment will not only further enhance the already wonderful Young Carers Festival but also improve the position of young carers in their communities. We hope we can also encourage a wide and diverse range of organisations to join us in championing young carers and offering them support in any way they can.”

“We are delighted to be celebrating our 25th anniversary with the support of the CareTech Foundation. The funding has enabled us to reduce the barrier of travel costs, which has previously prevented young carers across the country from attending, as well giving festivalgoers more fun activities when they arrive. We really hope this partnership will help shine a spotlight on young carers and their experiences so everyone can recognise them for the remarkable people they are.”
