Foreword and Executive Summary
It has been another busy and successful year for the CareTech Foundation. We have been delighted to welcome new members to our team and to settle into our new offices. Throughout this period of growth and change, our focus has remained firmly on delivering meaningful support to the UK care sector – and to both carers and those living in care, in the UK and internationally. We are proud to share in this report the tangible impact we have achieved together in 2024/25.
As the Foundation continues to evolve as a funder, we are beginning to see the long-term results of the capacity, capability and innovation programmes we have supported, alongside our continued commitment to improving the lives of people directly affected by challenges within the care system. Since our launch in 2017, the Foundation has reached nearly 2.1 million people, trained over 5,100 individuals, and equipped almost 2,500 people with improved employment skills. This year alone, we have supported 70 charities and positively impacted over 187,600 people. We have also launched three new high-impact partnerships, while maintaining support for a wide range of organisations working to strengthen the sector and its workforce.
This report also marks a moment of reflection. We are tracking our progress against the success factors defined in 2023 and preparing for our next three-year strategy to be launched in 2026. This next phase will see us review our impact framework to ensure we continue to capture the far-reaching effects of our work – both in the UK and internationally – across the many audiences we serve. While the details of that strategy are still in development, our purpose remains clear: a continued commitment to making a tangible difference to the lives of carers, those in care, and the wider care community.
We are extremely proud of what has been achieved to date and we hope you enjoy reading about the progress and partnerships that continue to drive our shared ambition for a stronger, more compassionate care sector.
