PARTNERSHIP GRANTS

Young Epilepsy

‘Epilepsy Positive’ Programme- Inclusion for Children and Young People with Epilepsy (CYPE).

This partnership supports a programme designed to improve the understanding and confidence in educators when teaching children with epilepsy. There are more than 100,000 children living with epilepsy in the UK, and suffering from over 40 different types of seizures. Epilepsy Positive is a comprehensive inclusion programme committed to offer training, resources and accreditation for professionals and adults supporting CYPE. The programme will focus on the lived experiences of young people, teachers and others in the wider community to create innovative tools, information, and training – providing practical support to schools and educators to build a wider understanding of the impact for a child living with epilepsy. Over the course of the partnership, the programme will seek to train 500 professionals, adults and parents. In addition, 150 settings will be made Epilepsy Positive. Care workers will be upskilled in epilepsy awareness and training, through an accessible, user friendly and engaging inclusion programme.
