CareTech Foundation and EY Foundation have embarked on a wonderful partnership together to support young people on two key programmes – Our Futures and Smart Futures.
On Wednesday 8th May, at EY Offices in London Bridge, despite the beauty of architecture and the wonder of London, the stars were the graduates of these respective programmes. Given the task of hosting the Awards, they invoked laughter, tears and pride in so many.
Young people from yester year made their way to the stage, admitting their fear of public speaking and how they were challenged to grow and given guidance and opportunities to develop skills, one thing was for sure, the programme works!
A room full of supporters, participants, government, corporate and charity partners applauded the efforts of everyone involved. Too many times young people between the ages of 16-19 are told ‘you cannot’ and before an opportunity even presents itself, they are restricted from taking the journey. With the support of CareTech Foundation, EY Foundation is delivering opportunities for young people who ‘could not’ but after taking part on their programmes, have.
We look forward to the continuation of Our Futures with the second employability week approaching and the placements of young people on Smart Futures being hosted in Manchester by CareTech plc staff.
