Launch of Summer Cost of Living Crisis Grant

In recognition of the cost of living crisis affecting carers across the country, we are launching the Summer Cost of Living Crisis Grant from 4th July. The grant will provide critical support to CareTech plc staff who are working hard to cope financially during these challenging times. This grant will make a significant difference to those with added responsibilities by helping to cover essential costs that have sky-rocketed in recent months. We want to ensure we are doing all that we can to reduce the impact of this crisis.

The grant is also available to CareTech plc staff who are engaged via the company such as foster carers and teachers. To find out more about this grant and apply, please click here: https://www.caretechfoundation.org.uk/summer-crisis-grant/

In order to be eligible for the one-off grant of £350, applicants must satisfy the following eligibility criteria by providing evidence:

  • Be a current employee of CareTech plc
  • Be able to evidence they are in receipt of universal credit and carers allowance or child tax credit
  • Are responsible for either school-aged children or other dependents or have other caring responsibilities.

The Summer Cost of Living Crisis Grant is part of the Staff Hardship Fund. We will continue to provide support through our Staff Hardship Fund to staff who are not eligible for this temporary grant and those who require additional financial support.

Awards will be made subject to the availability of funds.

“We all know the challenges that the cost of living crisis is putting on so many hard-working staff, but particularly those caring responsibilities during the Summer period when costs can pile up and create pressure on families. Recognising that the economic environment at the moment is tough, we want to do what we can to help and hope that this streamlined process will make best use of the Foundation’s Staff Hardship Fund to provide support quickly and easily.”
