Well done to Faye from Acorn Way (a CareTech short break specialist service designed to support young people aged 3 to 18 with learning and or physical disabilities), who regularly runs bingo and raffle nights raising money for charity. This time Faye’s event supported the Severn Hospice who gives specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness.
The hospice supports families through the good days and bad days because they believe that when cure is no longer possible, care is. Since 1989, they have given free care and support to more than 34,000 people and their loved ones during their time of greatest need. They now help more than 2,000 local people every year.
All of the care they provide to thousands of people every year is only possible thanks to the generous support they receive from people like Faye. Their services are funded through a combination of kind donations from local people, fundraising activities, their lottery and retail departments, gifts in people’s wills and grants from the NHS.
Faye raised £325 through her bingo event, and the Foundation was pleased to match fund this with a donation of £250.
