Gemma Cooper and the team at The Mallards raised £456.50 to support The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House, a local charity dear to many of the staff and their families. Below, Gemma shares an insight into their fundraising event and how the CareTech Foundation was able to support their great cause:
“Unfortunately due to COVID we struggled to come up with a COVID friendly fundraising option this year until a staff member saw Tapping House Hospice offering to donate the prizes if we held the raffle. After discussion with the team we felt this was a fantastic opportunity to raise some money for a local charity that was close to the hearts of many members of staff and service users. Our aim was to raise £250.00 for the charity. The support from the staff team and their families was overwhelming with more prizes being donated and tickets being sold and we soon hit the £250 mark!
We held the raffle on Monday 7th December with over 30 prizes and our grand total was an amazing £456.50! We then applied for a match fund with the Caretech Foundation and was pleased to hear that they were matching the amount we raised so in total £913.00 was sent to Tapping House Hospice, an amazing result!”
We at the Foundation are delighted that we were able to match fund Gemma and the team’s charitable efforts during what has been a difficult year for local charities.

Service users Robert and John with the raffle prizes, they were very helpful on the day making coffees and drawing tickets!!
