The Foundation was thrilled to have supported Lamar’s coffee and cake fundraising afternoon raising funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Jennifer, Headteacher at Greenfields School in Wales applied for a match funding award on behalf of a student at the school. Lamar carried out a fundraising coffee and cake afternoon. He created his own bunting, invitations and baked delicious cakes. He decorated the hall and during the afternoon he offered refreshments to all that attended.
Lamar decided on a coffee and cake afternoon because of his love of baking; and he chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation because it helps children who are ill.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Whether it’s starring in their own films, walking with dinosaurs, going on an amazing holiday, meeting a celebrity hero, or having a bedroom makeover; their wishes are varied, personal and life-changing. They go above and beyond to grant amazing wishes to very amazing children.
The afternoon raised £55 in total, and the Foundation was pleased to match the donation.
Lamar was excited that the Foundation was able to support his event. He said:
“I felt good because it is raising money for charity.”
When hearing about the donation from Lamar and the CareTech Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation responded:
“Your contribution will make a big difference to our wish children and families so thank you very much.”
