Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, we have been supporting CareTech plc staff in their fundraising efforts for refugees fleeing the devastation of instability through our grant streams.
We awarded a Match-Funding Grant of £350 in support of Matthew Rabone’s fundraising efforts with the Malvern Buzzards. The IT Manager at assistive technology firm, Smartbox, along with his running club, raised over £6,350 for the Disasters Emergency Committee – Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Donations to the DEC appeal go to its member charities and local partners responding in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries. DEC charities are experts in humanitarian relief with decades of responding to crises around the world.
We also awarded £3,000 to the UNHCR – Ukraine Appeal, ensuring displaced Ukrainian families are safe and sheltered. UNHCR is working with authorities, UN agencies, displaced community groups and partners to provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance. They are on the ground in Ukraine and neighbouring countries to protect and assist people forced to flee.
At Grateley House School in Grateley, Hampshire, young people hosted a bake sale, painted and sold rocks and raised over £240 and the Rehavista team based in Germany completed the Freedom run/walk and raised just over £500 for Caritas International, both benefitting from combined match-funding of £271.35 from the Foundation.
